EMPOWERING

Beyond a collective that spins its heritage as enjoyment, CVC doesn't shy away from its curating as a politically tinged protection mechanism. Their existence alone holds a line against the decline of credible spaces for people who look like themselves. They keep the struggles and emphatic triumphs of discriminated peoples – as women, as persons of color, as women of color – alive and in plain view.

What We Do >

Chulita Vinyl Club also aims to create and contribute to spaces specifically for women & non-binary people of color.

By staying involved in womxn-centered events and movements throughout California and Texas, our collective of all-female & non-binary folks of color remains at the forefront of social activism & empowerment.

As an Afrolatina artist in my community, I find it essential to discover ways of creating safe spaces for other people of color.

Becoming a member of Chulita Vinyl Club has been a fulfilling way to connect with other WOC who are leaders in California & Texas communities.

Additionally, I--along with other great young minds-- created foundation for SCOPE or Students of Color Organization

for Performance & Engagement.
